Why has the O2 network been down for over one week in the Bristol and Southwest area.
Network status repearedly reports that a mast is down!! and despite chatting to O2 Support nothing seems to be being done to resolve this.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

O2 will never give you a time for repair as there are so many variables that can effect it.
All you can do is keep checking the status page and sign up for updates.
They will repair it as soon as possible as it's not in their interests to have it down for any longer than necessary.

Have you set a divert to your landline then?
keep checking at status.o2.co.uk

You could also download the My Network App. You can report outages through that

Community guides here , if they help.

Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?
Best of luck and welcome to the forum

Thanks for your response. Whilst I understand that modern mobile networks are complex (I am a retired aviation comms engineer) and that problems do arise, what I don't understand is the lack of communication from O2 acknowledging the fact that they have major problems. Being told repeatedly that they are working hard and will resolve the issue(s) as soon as possible doesn't really help a great deal.
Just imagine that the National Air Traffic System was off for one hour (never mind one week+) what would happen. Ok not a good parallel and I recognise that O2 mobile comms may not be a safety critical system but it may very well be business critical to some users.

Tesco mobile customers are having the same problem and their technical teams are on it too apparantly.
Even i cannot make calls on my o2 phone either.

We have just had this notice from one of our managers. There is a problem with O2's system for voice calls

See my post above. There is an outage for those using the O2 Network (which Tesco does)

Yes the O2 status page is now showing a message about issues on the network - from press reports people all over the country are affected
