O2 Billing Scam Text ‭

Anonymous
Not applicable

I got this text message yesterday, Saturday. This is the second one I’ve had in the last couple of months. I’m a bit concerned that there has been a data breach.

O2:We were unable to process your latest bill. In order to avoid fees, please update your payment information

I work in Fraud and often deal with this. The repercussions are awful when you reply . For example, fraudsters might ask you for your internet banking log in details or you may even get a call from the Fraudster claiming that they are your bank, asking if you have been a victim of a scam. Then the serious Fraud begins.
Thank you for replying MI5, hopefully we can help some O2 customers from falling victim to Fraud.

We do our best to highlight it on here as often as it gets reported.

Unfortunately, this has been going on for months. The scammers keep changing the number they text from so shutting them down completely is proving very difficult it seems............
