Number for iMessage and FaceTime expiry

I recently bought a sim only contract and once I put the sim in, I was told that I had 30days to use my old number for iMessage and FaceTime before it expires. This was because my old number that I wanted to keep still hadn’t been transferred to O2. It however has now been transferred and the expiry for my number keeps going down. What should I do? Or what will happen once it expires completely as that is my number.
thank you

@Stefanie

You need to go to Settings >Phone >My Number.

Edit it to your number, save it and reboot the phone.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
