Having been with Talktalk for years, an now moving to o2 as recommended by Talktalk team.

I am having great difficulty getting my old number transferred.

Have requested and received PAC from Talktalk.

Have new contract with o2.

Have working o2 sim in a handset.

Have completed PAC process with o2 online.

Have had 3 customer service chats. All said it would complete on 20/03/2018.

But still no transfer of number.

Whats going wrong. Is anyone else who is moving from Talktalk having the same issue?

Feedup with carrying around two phones.

Help......

Hi All.

Thanks for your help.

Number has now swapped correctly.

Received a first text today welcoming me to O2. Then received a text to say number would transfer by 6pm.

At lunch time my old sim went dead, and when I installed o2 sim, my number had ported correctly.

I think the biggest issue throug this whole process was receiving incorrect chat information about dates from o2 support.

Obviously it seems the port has failed. Occasion this happens but it's not specific to any carrier. Unfortunately you do need to speak again to customer service, only they can sort this out  for you. Call, don't use live chat. They may need to request the porting files again.

You might want to make a complaint , use the Resolver link on the complaints page as well as the complaint to O2. Resolver gets good results a lot quicker than the official link.

In the first instance though call customer service :

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Complaints here :

https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

Stupid question, have you switched the phone off and on? You will know the port has started when the Talk talk sim loses network coverage but I'm sure you are aware of this....

@itoldMore info here on keeping your number

This is the form you need to complete

However as @jonsie said the transfer may have failed... so you need to follow his advice above

Ok port may have failed. But never received a SMS message. So contacted O2 via chat, and was assured it was still going through.

Will phone and not chat to O2 today. Will update with progress if any.

Always best to speak to an advisor @itold as opposed to live chat who have a poor reputation in relation to account based issues. Best of luck

If you’ve not received a text it means it’s not on the system so nothing has been started yet.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Good news. I received a text at 8:59 telling me that they could not port on the 21st but where doing it on the 22nd.

At least I am in the system. Dont think it was ever going to happen on the 20th as I never got a text.

Thanks for the feedback and advise.
