I recently swapped from vodafone to o2 and was having some trouble with my new phone recognising my number that I brought over from vodafone. I spoke to o2 who have sent me a replacement sim to hopefully fix that issue (great). But now the SIM that is currently in my phone has NO SIGNAL and my new sim isn’t meant to arrive for 2-3 days. Have i got No Service because they’ve sent me a new sim? Why has it swapped over before i’ve even received it? I’ve had a really bad experience with o2 so far

You are yet another victim of O2's new system of disconnecting original SIM cards when a new one is ordered.

Why? We are all asking

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Yes we are @Enlli.

Maybe time to ask @Martin-O2 @RafaC or @Breanna why O2 have started this stupid practice?

Not good business to leave their customers without service whilst awaiting a replacement sim!

As @Enlli says: "You are yet another victim of O2's new system of disconnecting original SIM cards when a new one is ordered."

  • Is this related to the move to System 360 at the back-end, @ColinO2?

If it is, the logic is dreadfully flawed and should be revised so the request to O2 from the Consumer/Customer for a new SIM does not automatically lock-out the existing SIM *UNLESS* the reason for the new SIM request is loss or theft of the original SIM or phone, thereby triggering a full Bothway bar Guide: O2 BARs
