So I got a new phone yesterday and a new sim (same number as before) however it has now been 24 hours and the sim is still not picking up a signal, how can I get this sorted so that the sim is picking up mobile network? I checked the area I am in and the 2G, 3G & 4G are all working perfectly so there is clearly network in the area, but my phone/sim is not picking it up, anyone able to help?

@TaylorPT If your old sim is the same size as the new one you can just use that. If it's a different size you can do a sim swap: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Sim-Swap-a-mini-guide-2017-update/ba-p/1060675 You can also go into an O2 store if you have one nearby and they will do the swap for you for free. The process is usually very quick.

I lost my old phone (iPhone 6s plus) so don’t have the old sim unfortunately. The new phone is an iPhone 8, are they the same sim, or am I needing to do a sim swap? Thank you for your help by the way! Appreciated

@TaylorPT Have you switched the phone off and back on again? If this doesn't help you will need to contact customer service https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus or go in store. You can call customer service from any phone or on Skype for free on 0800 032 1402

You won't be able to do this yourself. Call or possibly go instore if that's practical for you.

@TaylorPT you account will be blocked due to losing your old phone and SIM. Customer service will need to remove the restriction before the new SIM will work.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
