I can call and text but I get an error message “could not activate mobile data network” you are not subscribed to a mobile data network.

@Excelsior2k5 Try changing your apn to mobile.o2.co.uk. If that doesn't work, call customer service. 8-8.30 am UK time is best to avoid a long wait on hold. https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Have you got mobile data/data roaming turned on?

It does sound like the usual iphone problem where the apn needs changing to mobile.o2.co.uk
