No data in Paris with O2 APN

Not applicable
I got the O2 sim specifically to use in Europe. I am on the O2INT tariff. My settings are:
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
PROXY: 193.113.200.195
PORT: 8080
Username: payandgo
PASSWORD: password
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS port: 8080
MNC: 10
AUTHENTICATION TYPE: PAP
APN type: internet, mms
APN protocol: IPv4

My network operator in Paris is Bouygues Telecom. I can make phone calls but I cannot get data to work. I have texted TRAVEL25 twice today in case that helped. The text was acknowledged, money taken, but I am no closer to obtaining data.
I have received a message that "You've lost data connectivity because..." and the rest of the message is cutoff and it doesn't appear in the sms messages.

I would be very grateful for help on this as it is driving me crazy. I have spent about ₤8 trying to get this to work.

Hi.

If you've been using Live Chat for assistance why not try 202 from your mobile which puts you thought to a Uk Callcentre.

Here a link ref Apn's.

After contacting chat twice and phone customer support once and getting 3 different 'solutions', I am no closer to getting data in Paris after trying for 4 days. The latest solution was to text ACTIVE to 2020. I don't know what effect that was supposed to have, but it didn't get me a data connection. Has anybody got data to work in France?

Hi,

Look at this 02 link.

The link explains the charges for data. Of course I should be so lucky to get to the point that I have data. Today I contacted O2 again, twice. I got 2 different 'solutions'. I have lost count,I think I am up to number 6. The first 'guru' told me I couldn't get data on O2INT tariff. I asked her to check my tariff conditions. She did so and said I had to activate O2 travel (it was already activated). I gave up. The next 'guru' told me I probably had a faulty phone, (although I have had it for 2 years and it is only 'faulty' with O2 data).

The only clue I have to the problem is that as soon as I switch on data I get an error message that "You've lost data connectivity becau..." and the rest of the message is cut off.

Is there any way to escalate a problem with O2? I feel sorry for the 'gurus' as they are clearly not well trained and are quickly out of their design.

The last line should say out of their depth.

I had the same issue when travelling abroad. Simple solution eventually. Re-enter the right APN codes (ie I data.o2.co.uk etc etc) and make sure under Settings // Cellular that EU Internet is OFF. Now works (as long as u r signed up to the O2 international travel plan)
