No clue whilst abroad

I have a very basic monthly package, and not sure if I can use my wifi in Paris, other than when I'm in my hotel or mcds. 

Any advice please, as I have to turn on my data, then find I can't get wifi

@Jg11 WiFi has nothing to do with your data. The connection is between your phone and the nearest local WiFi. If you use WhatsApp to make calls and send messages you can use it over any WiFi connection anywhere to call or text any other WhatsApp user anywhere in the world for free.
