No account to upgrade?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've had various tariffs with O2 in the last five or so years and now, when I try to check when I'll be eligible for an upgrade, I receive an onscreen message saying 'you don't have any accounts to upgrade'.

Really? How come I can still make calls and text, then?

The O2 site has become increasingly frustrating, in as much as I appear to be missing large sections of the site (I've compared with a friend on the same tariff, and he has many options that I don't have).

I'm basically thinking this means I don't have to pay anymore, right? Because I don't feel like I'm getting the service I should be. If someone can't help me with this soon, I'll just be cancelling the contract (if you actually have any record of it on the system).

Cheers.

Interesting one.

My best advise to you would be to call 202 and have them restart(reinitialise) your account. Sounds like somthing went wrong.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink

Thanks Liquid. Having just spent 10 minutes in a queue and no sign of any answer, I'm now more determined than ever to get out of O2's steely grasp. I can't even check when I'm eligible for an upgrade, let alone view my bill, or access any details that would probably be quite useful.

It's really annoying, as I've always had a pretty smooth ride with O2, but it's slowly becoming a complete pain - I'd have thought that it would be possible to view my account without any issue, but clearly that's beyond O2.

If anyone has any suggestions for any good rival companies, I'm all ears (eyes).

Unfortunatly I don't think there is a suitable alternative for O2. I agree the call centres suck but they have great staff its just a pain in getting to them:(. Unfortunatly I never reccomend live chat as I deem them useless(of course you get through straight away but you'd have more luck speaking to cleverbot on google if you wanted a human conversation).

If you feel you cannot stay with O2 I advise getting PAYG sims from different companies and checking how the signal fairs in the areas you normally frequent. As for 3 they're good but you either get signal or you don't there doesn't seem to be an Inbetween with them. So if your in a 3 area great:) but your stuffed once you get at the edge of their service(do they even have 2g?)

2g voice roaming on Orange but no data unless in 3g area. They do have 42mbps already running!
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

That's quite impressive:)

Arrgh so you should really check signal of orange in your area as well if you go the 3 route.

Thanks for clearing it up mi5:)
