No Service

Anonymous
Not applicable

I recently moved into a new house on Saturday and have found that I have 'No Service' through-out the house. After resetting 'Network Settings' I can sometimes get 1 or 2 bars for a few minutes, but it always goes again.

My partner, who uses Orange, gets a signal fine and the O2 website says I should get "okay" signal.

FYI: Using an iPhone and the postcode is DE12 6AF.

Is there anything that can be done? Moving provider would be difficult due to the fact I have just renewed my contract and I have been happy with O2 everywhere else.

The service checker for your area shows a good 2g signal but a very poor 3g signal. Whilst at home I suggest your turn off 3g on your phone which will force the phone to use 2g network. This should give you a decent signal.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Theres loads of things that can affect a signal inside a home.  Elevation, trees in the way, distance from local mast, type of building materials etc etc.

Suffice to say, if you move to a house and can't get a good signal, then its a major issue.  Your only hope might be on its way at the tail end of the year.

A software kit called TuGo, which O2 have designed and developed.  It works like skype in that it runs off your home broadband.  The minutes are charged to your O2 account and come off like regular minutes.  Its going to be available in app format for android/iphone and also for ipad/laptops as well.
