I planning on upgrading my daughter's phone as a birthday gift but need to do it 2 weeks before, so it wouldn't be opened and set up immediately. Would this affect the old mobile phone if the new phone isnt set up immediately? Will she still be able to use her old phone in those 2 weeks before receiving the new one?

Hi there
Yes this would be fine as long you keep using the same sim in the old phone.

Your daughter will know the upgrade is on its way as o2 text all the details to the phone number associated with the upgrade.

Other than that there is no issue holding onto the phone for 2 weeks
