If your My O2 is saying you can upgrade now then go for it.
You should be able to do this without cost to yourself. If you can't UPGRADE now, then you will need to pay the balance on your current contract before you are able to take out the new contract.
You will need to ask O2 to migrate your number across. Your old contract will end at the point your number is migrated to your new one.
Check with your new supplier if they are prepared to pay off your existing contract. They often will, if it means getting your custom.
Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202.
Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.
You need to make sure you aren't paying for two contracts.
