New phone

I've recently paid for an early upgrade and I've kept the same number, the people in the shop said that it would take 76 hours for my old phone to deactivate and the number on my new phone to activate, it's now been nearly a week and still nothing has happened and I'm having to use my old phone, I've rang up O2 but just been put on hold and then not answered! feeling very frustrated and don't no what to do!

Where does the O2 shop get this 76 hours from? The last time I swapped my sim in store it took 20 minutes for the new card to activate.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

So 76 hours?! No idea! Assuming it's a sim swap, the timescale for that is up to 24h. I would sugest either ring 202 again or ask web chat to check if the sim swap has gone trough. And can you tell us what the old and new phones r? just to make sure u do need a sim swap...

A sim swap did once take 2 days to complete for me. Rare tho as others took minutes depending on how busy the network is.
