Hey x I'm hoping someone can help me.  I have a new contract with O2 and have been sent a new sim, but i'd like to keep my old number.  I can't get hold of anyone to help me... I've done a "sim swap" will that do the trick?  Sorry if this is a really silly question

Yes a sim swap will transfer your number onto the new sim

Transfers are taking longer than usual though

Any problems call O2

Hey thank you so much for your response.  I would love to speak to someone, but I just can't seem to speak to anyone, its only calls for upgrades or stolen phones/fraud being taken

@Maryanne

Continue to use your old sim until the transfer starts.

When your old sim loses signal, switch to the new sim and wait a coupe of hours for it to come online. Rebooting at this point will help speed it up.

Thank you so much MI5, I did exactly that but the new sim is only recognising my new number, and when family try to call me my original number doesn't work at all....

Sounds like the swap has started then @Maryanne

Hang on until it completes.

Hi @Maryanne , I'd love to hear how you're getting on with your number transfer. Did everything turn out ok or are you still waiting?
