New international rates

Hello - was hoping for some help with the new o2 international roaming rates. O2 texted me on 29/10 to announce changes and linked to this http://mobi.o2.co.uk/pl/svt/si/mo2couk/po/o2uk/pa/intts - which then took me to this page http://mobi.o2.co.uk/pl/svt/si/mo2couk/po/o2uk/pa/intstandardrates.

I've since been in contact and they have sent me this link http://mobi.o2.co.uk/pl/svt/si/mo2couk/po/o2uk/pa/roamingrow.

The first has calls at 40p p/m - the second has it at £1.10 p/m - what is going on? I can't understand why they would send the original link and it be so far off what they are now telling me. I also can't understand the justification for a £1.10 p/m- which includes 1 second calls- that is not the local operators connection charge.

Nothing like their charges, I daresay! I'm a regular visitor to the Far East and have to resort to a local sim due to the ridiculous charges for roaming with O2.

The website ia apparently up to date with costs I believe.

Thanks, that makes it even more confusing- it's a third set of rates different from the last two? I wonder what the actual cost of an overseas call is to o2, minimal I expect.

Just going through the links you've been sent. Not that confusing really.

The first one relates to the removal of ITS from sale, the second shows you the standard UK to international rates and the third and final link shows you the charges for using your phone abroad.

Different prices for different types of calls.

Hope this helps

J

Hello,

Why are the data rates for contract customers higher than pay as you go?

For example, for travelling to france, for £1.99 I get 15MB of data as a contract customer, but pay as you go customers get 25MB for the same price.

I would understand if there was parity between the two data plans, because they are both using data on a pay per use system. But to restrict the data plan for contract customers seems like a mistake. I might as well go pick up a pay as you go sim!

I am planning to use the data for GPS while abroad, and 15MB is approximately a full day driving, I would recommend that you provide at least 20MB of data to cover this, as I am sure this would be the main consistent use of data for international travellers.

We've asked the same question a number of times.... Call costs vary in favour of PAYG too, but we've never had an answer from O2 as to "why".....?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
