This is probably a good thing @Anonymous (that your postcode wasn't recognised) There is every chance the item you wanted is out of stock online....and wouldn't be delivered in time for Christmas. Do as @MI5 says and go instore to get the phone. Your address being updated is the least of your worries at present. It will will happen in good time. Best of luck...

I understand that, but anyone working in store would only be calling CS, and ID or not, if the system is saying no, they may not be able to alter it. The OP might want to speak to the Post Office or their local council to get verification of the new post code. That may help too.
