New device but can't keep old number

I recently ordered a new sim as I upgraded from a very old phone. Now I am trying to keep my old number but I'm not having much luck at all. The MyO2 app isn't compatible with the old device and when I try and do it through the browser, I get stuck waiting for a 6 digit code to be sent to the original number (the one I want to keep). Is there any other way of doing it? I remember the process being much simpler years ago

@SirMark See if anything in this guide helps: SIM Swap: a mini guide (incl eSim) - O2 Community

The guide also suggests calling onto an O2 store. If you're having problems that might be your best option, if you have a store nearby. Be sure to bring identification with you.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the links below, they should be able to help you with this
