Just wondering, is it possible to buy a new contract with o2 and then cancel then terminate the existing contract I'm on (by paying the termination fee)?
I'm nearly at my upgrade date, but desperatly need a phone that works. But I'm worried I won't pass the credit check if I terminate my existing contract now and then try and get a new one.
Would this idea be frowned upon by o2?
Thanks

I can't see any problems with doing that.

Will they let you pay the rest of your current contract off and upgrade now?
That way you will get to keep your number.
If not then your idea seems a good way to go.
Don't cancel an O2 account and then straight away try and re join, they don't seam to like people doing that and often decline the new account.

You can pay our remaining months x your monthly tariff then you are free to start your new contract

I think you missed the point here, they want to avoid a credit check.

Oops, my mistake, thought if you paid it off, you would be ok with the check because you have paid the amount you had left
