New contract cancellation and PAC

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello,

I recently came to the end of 24 month contract and decided to start a new 12 month contract. However I then realised I could get a better deal elsewhere.

So I called to cancel within the 14 day cooling off period and asked for and received my PAC. I was told the PAC needed to be used within 30 days. But my question is this: do I need to use the PAC within the 14 day cooling off period (which I am still in) as this effectively cancels the contract doesn't it? Or can I use it anytime in the next 30 days, given that I actually requested the cancellation inside the 14 day cooling off period?

Thank you.

As long as you have given notice you can use the PAC at any time within the 30 days.

I understand. Thank you for your quick reply.

So if hadn't requested my PAC when I called to cancel, would my contract and service ended immediately?

The only way to cancel immediately is to use the PAC but you still get billed for the notice period even if you don't use it.
To get full value you need to use the PAC around 5 days before the end of your notice.
