Hi everyone, i just upgraded yesterday, o2 offered to pay my contract off and let me upgrade to a new S20 +

It came today, so i popped the sim card in but it says 'Sim 1 Not Provisioned'.

My old sim is still working in my old phone, i dont think i can put this sim in my new phone as the new phone needs a 5g sim.

I have tried ringing 202 all morning, i end up waiting on hold for up to 20 minutes and then they just hang up on me!

Can anyone help me activate the sim somehow? Or let me know whats wrong?

Thanks!

@Jono987 Use your old sim for the time being. Sim swaps are taking a very long time. If you're not in a well served area for 5G, the new sim isn't necessary at the moment. Your old sim will do fine until this crisis has calmed down.

Thanks mate, will this new sim card be ok to use in the future? So i can just stick it in a drawer and do a sim swap when all this has blown over?

What happens if i initiate sim swap now - will they both stop working? Or would i just need to use my old one until the sim swap is complete - if so maybe i should initiate it?

Cheers really appreciate your helpl

I would not initiate a swap at the minute - we have no clue how long they are taking.

@Jono987 I agree with @gmarkj Not a good time to be swapping sims, as O2's systems are not at their best at the moment. You could potentially find yourself with no service, which would not be good at this time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Your new sim can be swapped once this crisis settles down and some semblance of normalcy returns.
