Hi,

I took out a new sim only package yesterday. My O2 is indicating that the tariff is now up and running on my phone. However, it says it's a 5G sim only tariff. I've just had a text from O2 to say my new sim is on its way. I have an S9, so not 5G compatible. Can I assume I just don't put the new sim in my phone and I will have the sim to use on a new 5G phone as and when/ if I get one? It won't affect functionality on my current sim, will it? Thanks folk slight_smile

It's OK to use a 5g sim but obviously you won't get 5g data speeds.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

A 5G tariff will possibly be more expensive than the normal 4G tariff. You need to check whilst in your 14 days.
