New SIM card not working - no phone service for >48 hours!

Hi there

Has anyone else been sent a new SIM ahead of the O2 network upgrade, only to be left with no phone service after swapping over the SIM cards and the new card failing to work?

Apparently the switch to the new SIM has 'got stuck' according to O2 and they can't give me any indication of when I'll actually be able to use my phone! Appaling customer service and pretty woeful tech IMO.

Any suggestions gratefully received. TIA.

Maybe @O2Waqas can help?

@EmmaP If your old sim still works, try using that. All this network upgrade business is just a load of nothing. 4G sims will still work.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Wow, thanks for all the swift replies - much appreciated!

My old SIM isn't working either (assume it's been swithced off), so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. 😞

The blurb that came with the new SIM was so misleading - said that it would take 'up to 10 minutes' for the new SIM to register on  the network. What a joke!

@EmmaP

It usually is done instantly, but we are aware of a few faulty sims been sent out recently.

Thanks, MI5. Looks like I'm possibly just unlucky then (story of my life!).

The guy I spoke to at O2 yesterday has arranged for another SIM to be sent out to me, but no idea if that one will work or when it will arrive.
