New SIM, can't call or text

Hi,

Today I had to get a new pay monthly SIM with a new number. After installing the new SIM, I can receive calls and texts, but can't make calls or send texts, so was wondering if anyone has any advice regarding this issue. The phone is a Sony Xperia 1ii.

You are going to have call o2 and ask them I am afraid best to use a different phone and call 0344 809 0202 and get them to make sure there no bars on the sim.
