New SIM Change

I am on  a contract with o2 and just got a new Samsung Galaxy Ace with a £10 payg sim.

I like the new mobile phone number on the PAYG sim, can I put it in my phone and use it on my contract, or do I have to discard my contract and start all over again

Speak to cs on 202 or use live chat as they maybe able to change the number over

I've never known a network to move a payg number into a contract on the same network.
