I'm looking at upgrading soon and recently started a new job with the NHS. no I've had a little online chat with O2 and advised that they offer 30% NHS discount but not on any of the phones i actually want because its a new model! Why is this? what difference does it make if its a new or older model? its still a discount and money off isnt it?

At the moment it is only the iphone 6S that is exempt for the next 6 months...
Have a look at the FAQ's https://o2open.co.uk/O2Open/servlets/ShowFAQ
And this help thread
We have often questioned why this should be....we just think O2 know the phones will sell without the discount

Just to add here someone posted a couple of days ago that the Z5 was also exempt from the discount. The FAQ's do not mention this so I am going to ask our community manager @Toby if he could get clarification.
Just out of interest @Anonymous what phone were you looking at?
