Just had a text thanking me for suscribing to a service which will apparently cxost me £4.50 per week - I am assuming it is SPAM and not replying STOP to the number given - Is this correct?

You need this advice https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Have-you-fallen-for-or-been-conned-into-a-premium-rate-s...

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi @AR

Mentioned here on the community last month.https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/My-Content-Nextgen-SCAM/td-p/1170612

The advice then was to text stop to the number given.

You can also contact customer services https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus and ask them to place this bar to your account, 'Bar All Direct to Bill Debits'

This will stop money being taken out of your account again...

I have had exactly the same issue today, but I definitely have not 'fallen' for signing up to something either. I know that I haven't, so how these unscrupulous companies are allowed to work like this is beyond me. How many people are they scamming like this?

Luckily o2 have credited my account with the £4.50 charge and have set a bar to stop this type of thing from happening again.

I am tech savvy and know that there is absolutely no way I would have signed up. I don't click on links or visit dodgy websites and I certainly don't share my mobile number with random companies. So how are they doing it, and how are they allowed to?
