I got a text from EE this morning saying transfer is complete.
If I call from my old telephone number from my EE SIM, I get through to EE voicemail. If I call from my old O2 sim (in another phone) it says number is busy.
I called EE about this and they said everything is done from their side, but it's up to O2 to "release" or "disable" my old SIM. Until they do, I'm stuck with people maybe not being able to call or text me.
Is there any way to get O2 to not leave it in this state for more than 5 hours?

We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from here
Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (Contract) 4445 or 0344 809 0222 (PAYG)
Or you can message O2 on social media on Instagram https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW).

The whole point about PAC codes is the right to freely port without the carrier gatekeeping.

And the stupid UK system can mean all sorts of problems can arise especially when one of the networks is a bit incompetent

Average time to changeover is 4 hours but can be up to 24 hours.
Keep rebooting phone.
