Well if you had barrs on your account normally if you pay it online it takes 2 hours to remove these bars but can take a maximium time of 24 hours for the bars to be removed. If you have just paid it then I would wait 24 hours and then contact o2 if you still can't send texts and calls.

If you have been disconnected there may be a £15 fee to reconnect you.
Paying by direct debit avoids this problem.

If you still have bar on the phone today I would advise you call customer service. Use a friends phone if they have an o2 account or use a landline.

Incidentally...if you have had a bar placed on your phone.....just paying off the debt wont do anything. As far as I am aware CS need to be contacted so they can check your account and authorise the lifting of any bars.
This was certainly the scenario when my silly son found his phone barred last year.(I paid the bill and was with him when he rang CS)..
As said setting up a direct debit would avoid this in future....but there are various ways to pay to ensure payment is taken automatically
