My 1 month early upgrade is coming up confused with O2's price plans on phones

My 1 month early upgrade is coming up in 5 days time, obviously I cannot view the upgrade deals in my account as of yet till that time comes up, but have been doing some comparison here with what O2 are charging on there website in comparison to Carphone Warehouse on the deals.

A classic example is the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is obviously coming down in price due to the recent launch of the Galaxy S4 to which I tempted to go for, but not on the prices O2 as here on it's website. For example you can get the Galaxy S3 Free at Carphone Warehouse with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500 Mb Data for £22 per month. The same deal here on O2 they are asking £22 per month plus £279 for the phone. Quite a bit of difference I have to say, especially as you now go out and buy this phone for around £300, but obviously not on O2.

Go careful before going to another provider because it looks a cheaper deal. It could be that although you are getting the phone for free, you might be tied into a longer contract, or there could be hidden charges. Having worked in the mobile phone business for over ten years, there isnt much difference between any company price wise, the deals just look different. Take a good luck at the small print before going ahead. Hope this helps.

Yeah the deal I was talking about was with O2 and no other network, but it amazes me how Carphone Warehouse can give you a ten times better deal than what O2 have on their website. I obliviously want to keep my existing mobile number so I have no intentions of going with another network.

I got my wife's phone from Carphone Warehouse about 4 months ago now, and there is no added charges or scams as long as you keep within your minutes, do not buy games or apps e.t.c. by adding them to your bill, and pay cash via Paypal. I also went with Vodaphone for her phone which is the Samsung Galaxy Ace to which I got with 300 minutes a month for £7 per month. O2 wanted £17 per month for the same deal, which is a complete rip off especially when you can buy the phone new for around £60.

It's not a question of being an O2 fan especially when they are charging 150% more for a phone such as the Samsung Galaxy Ace which is the lower end of the market. They are making it out as if it was a phone that would cost you around £300 to £400 with what they are asking for it with their so called monthly plan. When you can buy it for peanuts at around £60. It's about logic and making your money count and work for you, and not throwing it away. A fool and his money is soon departed is the moral here.

Odd that, before it went out of stock the Ace was free on all tariffs.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace is free on all tarriffs as you rightly said but if you want one with 300 minutes on O2 it will cost you £17 per month, that's £10 more per month than Vodaphone charge you for exactly the same deal.

How on earth can O2 charge so much for this phone that only costs £60 to buy. I have a Blackberry 9320 Curve on O2 the phone costs twice the price of the Galaxy Ace and yet I am only paying £11 per month for it over a 1 year contract. Surely the price Vodaphone are charging of £7 per month for 300 minutes and a free phone is the right one. O2's price charging does not make one bit of sense at all.
