Moving to Germany!

Hello, as the title says I am moving to Germany in 2 weeks as my husband is in the Army. My contract is 10 months into a 24 month contract so I know I cannot cancel it without a hefty  I have tried calling from my mobile to 02 to find out my options and I am still none the wiser - I have also tried live chat where the chappy on the the end of the chat totally missed the point and kept wishing me and my family happy journey......

So here I am, all I want to know is - knowing I cant (cant affiord more like) cancel my contract will I be able to get a pay as you go german sim - on 02 Germany and pop this into my phone or will it need to be unlocked my 02? Ive got an iphone (dont know if that makes a difference or not). My hubby is with Orange and they have let him cancel with no fee so at least we will one have one UK contract to pay!

TIA for any help and sorry for the ramblings

Susan

Smiley LOLSmiley LOL haha Sorry that totally made me actually laugh out loud!

So you are now resigned to having to see out the remainder of your contract or pay it off early? I wonder why Orange will cancel the contract but not O2?

However, O2 germany are a different company from O2-UK, in the same way that O2-IE is a different company although at the moment they are all owned by Telefonica. Therefore, I would expect that you will have to have your iPhone unlocked by O2 while you are still in this country.

You would probably be best to get your phone unlocked anyway so its easier to sell or pass to someone else once you get a new phone

You definitely need to get the phone unlocked to use on a German network so use the form in the link in my signature just below. If you install TuGo you can get some use out of your contract using wifi if you aren't paying your your contract up.

Good luck in your new future, my son has lived in Berlin for the last 4 years and loves it.:smileyhappy:
