Moving to Australia

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm moving to Australia in March and currently have a monthly contract (airtime + device) until May. Ideally I'd like to pay off my contract and keep my number on a Pay As You Go basis, for when I come back to the UK. Is this possible? Can't seem to find the answer online and the live chat isn't working for me!

Hi @Anonymous Info on cancelling your contract here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-guides/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/ba-p/566774#M56526

If you are keeping the handset then get a PAYG sim ...You only have to make a chargeable call (or send a chargeable text) every 6 months and top up every 999 days to keep the sim active.

Are you on refresh?
If so, just pay off the phone so it’s yours then you can transfer to PAYG by giving 30 days notice.

@Anonymous Make sure your phone is unlocked before you leave so you can use a sim from an Australian network.
