Moving mobile number

Hi, I've recently had my contract moved over from Virgin to O2 and at about the same time I took out a new contract via buymobiles with O2.

I'd like to close my old account and move my old number to my new account but it's proving very difficult. I've had an email stating

"We are unable to process this request as the mobile number is active on
the SPID 569/VM" or when calling O2 they cut me off!
Anyone have any advice? Many thanks

Guide here Guide: Migration & porting into O2

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
