Moving from contract to monthly SIM

I'm just coming to the end of my current contract with O2 ( bought IPhone on 24 month contract), I can get exactly the same data, minutes, text allowance on a Pay Monthly SIm, also with O2. So want to go for this SIM deal as obviously a lot cheaper, could I leave the existing SIM card in my phone as I'm going to be staying with O2 or will I have to order a new one? Also, if I have to order a new SIM do I have to wait until the exact date my contract ends, then put the new SIM in the day after?

Just follow the upgrade path in your MyO2 and choose a sim only deal.

You keep your sim as everything switches on the O2 system.

The change is immediate and can only be done when your MyO2 allows it.
