Is my mobile phone covered with insurance under my contract

Insurance is not automatic. You have to pay extra for it in addition to your contract.

If you pay for your bank account as it might be one of the perks/included items on there - and as you are paying it already, you may not need it separately.
It might also be covered under your house insurance, but you would need to check the terms and conditions...
