Hi there!

I currently have a sim only contract on O2 (with about 40 quid left I'll buy out) and looking to upgrade. The phone I want and the contract I want is quite expensive with O2 but if I visit Mobile Phones Direct I have two viable options for O2

New contract
Upfront: £189
£26 per month for 24 months

BUT there's the upgrade option
Upfront: £189
£31 per month for 24 months.

Same phone, same contract length and same network through MPD - but that extra £5 per month just for being an upgrade is a bit of a bugbear.

Is it possible to buy the new contract with MPD, pay off current sim only contract and transfer the number over to the new contract?

Yes you can.

You will need to request your number to be migrated to the new contract.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
