Hi Guys, I've received a missed call from 03448260202  which after googling I believe may be to offer me an upgrade, is there any way to prompt a callback?

That number has been linked to LBM Marketing before who are a trusted partner (whatever that means) !

Hi, I tried that but they knew nothing about it. Is there any way to prompt a callback? the call centre didn't have any nombers for the outbound teams.

Thanks,

Mike

That would indicate to me that it wasn't O2 who called you then......

That would mean an O2 "trusted" partner spoofed a genuine O2 telephone number wouldn't it ?

If so, I believe that's now illegal

Edit : no it's not yet illegal......but certainly frowned upon by OFCOM and ICO

Thanks guys, it looks like my dreams of a free early upgrade were a pipe dream. I'll just have to save up the money to pay off my phone and renew.

If something sounds too good to be true then it generally is. Be very careful about renewing from an unsolicited phone call.  I would always get a number from them to call back. In the experience of so many, trusted partners are anything but.
