I got a text saying I am currently out of my minimum term contract. Have never had this message before and have had my contract forever!!....no phone contract just sim/tariff.....i never use all my text/space quota and just pay the same amount every month. Can't seem to find any help and phoning is a nightmare. Any advice.....can't find anything on my account ....got the text yesterday from 02.....or is this a plot to get me to go on a different tariff?

You'll need to call O2.

Numbers here Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

If you call 202, when it comes to the reason you are calling stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

It's a new ruling from OFCOM that all service providers have to inform customers when they are out of contract so that they can look around for a better deal if they want to.

You are under no obligation to change anything at all if you don't want to but you may find a better / cheaper / more suitable deal if you look around.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

If you are happy with your allowances and what you are paying, then do nothing

Everything will remain the same

You could look at your upgrade options for sim only in case you can get the same for less money
