Why am I getting messages from O2 about my Data limit? I only use my phone for texts and calls, NEVER for the internet. Is this just a marketing ploy to get me to pay more each month?

It may be a scam if you don't use data.

Some scams might pretend to be from O2, or from an organisation you already deal with. It's important that we see examples of phishing emails, texts and websites so we can investigate and shut down scammers. To report a suspicious email, text or website:

No further texts like this since the question and replies appeared on the Community. Hopefully the fact that the scam is now public has led to this.

It would be interesting if the message came from a mobile number? I had an alert about data last month and it came from O2-data I do believe, there was no number.
