Morning @Mayhem17. Assuming you mean text messages first check that you have the correct message centre number:

       +447802000332 for Pay Monthly

Then text Active to 2020. Save the settings received and reboot your phone.

Do remember that you will be charged for any texts you send containing pictures or emojis as these are not free. To send messages containing pictures or emojis you will need to download an app like Whatsapp.

Hope the above helps and welcome to the forum.

Lover of all things Samsung. Currently using Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus 128gb

Hi @Mayhem17 what phone do you have? If it's an iPhone, are you talking about iMessage? If so, these are free to send  to other iMessage users over WiFi..

A bit more information would be helpful really.

To clarify what has been said above by @Glory1 regarding texts (SMS) being converted to MMS etc (in which case you will be charged)... take a look at this guide

There are no free messages anymore.
The old web based option of sending from your MyO2 disappeared years ago.
Messages are now either bundled with tariffs on both contracts and PAYG unless you have classic PAYG in which case you pay by text sent.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
