Message not sent, number incorrectly formatted

Hi all,

I've just switched the O2 from Three on a SIMO deal.

I provided my PAC code as part of the sign up process so I could keep my existing number.

The new sim arrived and I had a text telling me to text the word swap to complete the porting process.

This message will not send and says the number is incorrectly formatted.

Three have now turned off my old sim card, meaning I no longer have access to my phone number.

I tried calling customer services who advised me that they can't port my number on a weekend, which leaves me on call at work without my phone number.

Is there any way to rectify this? Looking on YouTube I have tried clearing the cache and data from my messaging app to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

@Paul1980

No ports happen at the weekend. Also you don't sim swap when coming from another network. O2 need to migrate your number to the new sim.

Guide: Migration & porting into O2

Bringing your number to O2

Before we can transfer your number, we'll need your PAC code – a code made up of three letters and six numbers. To get your PAC, text PAC to 65075, for free. You’ll receive it within 60 seconds and it’ll be valid for 30 days. Alternatively, you can request your PAC from your current mobile provider.

You can give us your PAC code when you order your new O2 connection or at any time afterwards. Once you’ve given us your PAC code, you’ll switch to our network within one working day (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays). If we receive your code after 5pm, you’ll switch within two working days. If you provide your PAC code at the weekend, you’ll switch on the following Tuesday.

Thanks @Cleoriff

So the swap text was sent incorrectly?

I assumed Three wouldn't disconnect my sim until the number port took place.

It's unfortunate timing @Paul1980. The port has started as EE have turned off your connection once you gave your PAC to O2. O2 don't port over the weekend, so it will be Monday or Tuesday. O2 will migrate your number to your account. Keep rebooting your phone on Monday, if nothing happens, then contact O2

Either borrow a phone to call O2 on 0344 809 0202

Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.
