Hi

I am on Pay & Go with O2 Travel, and will be in Europe soon, wanting to send MMS (picture messages) to Australia, but not needing data use when there.

The web site says the MMS will cost 25p each, but will I also be charged £1.99 per day for data to send an MMS or do MMS's not incur additional data charges?

Thanks

Regards

Glen

MMS are sent over data so yes you will be charged. They can't be sent over wifi so best option is to use whatsapp, messenger, email or Skype as long as the receiver in Australia has the app you want to use.

MMS use shouldn't come out of data so the £1.99 won't apply, however, you do need data on so some other app could hijack the connection and incur charges for you.

Thankyou for that advice.

I've never used whatsapp.

The family member I send MMS's to has an older Nokia S60 Symbian phone, so I've read that it will take whatsapp, but I've heard whatsapp has security risks.

If we believed everything we read on the net we would throwing phones into the Dustbin. There is no issue likely to affect anyone's security with messaging apps.

It will be free on wifi remember but you'll still get the 1.99 charge per day if you use it over data.
