I have completely locked my phone, kept saying my pattern was wrong. So i googled how to reset it and it said to switch it off and should come up forgotten pattern. This didn't happen, now I can't use my fingerprint to open my phone and I can't switch my phone off without the pattern. I am due an upgrade soon, will i be able to upgrade it with this fault on it?

Which phone is it?
