Leaving O2

What is the process if you want to move away from O2? I understand that you can ask for a Port Authorisation Code if you want to take your number with you. I am not sure what the process or timescales are, but I believe that you can do this at the end of your contract without financial penalty.

Yes, as long as your contract is complete you can call up and get your PAC for free. You then give this to your new network. The transfer takes 2-3 days typically from start to finish.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Calling in would be better except for the queue

Hi,

Both avenues of obtaining the PAC Code attain the same result.

Once you give the PAC to your new network O2 will produce your final bill. We advise not to cancel any direct debit until this has been paid.
