Late payment

Hello, 

My bill was due on the 26th. I paid both direct debits on the 26th, however one of mine have been returned without me noticing until now. I am planning on talking to customer services in the morning. However, with the dd being returned to me, will this affect my credit score if I pay it off now? Also will I receive a late payment fee at all?
