LG G7 - Unlock Code

Hi everyone,

I've seen a few others with this issue, but no solid solutions as of yet.

I've put a new SIM in my mobile (EE) that I had from O2 and I found that my mobile said "Network Locked", so I did the process of inputting my IMEI for a unlatching code, but found that this code didn't work, even after multiple contacts to O2 and different emails.

I recieved an email with the following instructions:

LG Unlocking procedure for the LMG710EM handset LG G7
 1.Turn on the mobile handset  Enter PIN code if required .
 2.From the home screen press the ?Call? button or enter the dialing
menu and then enter the following text: 2945#*710# an unlock menu will
automatically appear.
 3.Select ?Service Provider Lock?
 4.Enter the unlock code  SIM_Unlock* and press ?Ok? the handset will be
reset automatically.
 5.Switch off the handset insert the SIM card for the new network and
then switch the handset back on.
the phone is unlocked and ready for use.

I get to step 3 and when I press Service Provider Lock I end up with a screen that says "Phone not Personalised" and I can't do anything else.

I find it weird that there's an option for "Network Lock" with 10 tries, but no-one seems to know? I think it might be an "NCK" code.

Anyway, I contacted serveral O2 representatives, have walked and driven into a couple of different branches, which have basically shrugged and said "Don't know why O2 sent you here mate"

I then contacted O2Lisa, and she arranged for an identical phone to be sent out, this phone arrived today and I sent off for the IMEI code, but discovered that when I click service provider lock like the instructions, it also says "Phone not personalised".

I face the issue that my old phone is Network Locked (All 10 tries used up, because of cowboy phone shops and O2 telling me to try different codes, and a couple due to me trying to make sure I inputted the O2 code correctly)

The new phone has 9 tries left, but I was wondering if anyone has a hard solution for this? I try phoning support but the issue is that I get left on hold for so long that my O2 connection disconnects (my main reason for wanting to switch, as the reception is very poor here)

Any solutions? I find this a lot harder than it should be, any help is appreciated and I'm willing to explain more if needed.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

@Senor_Sam

Have you tried your EE sim in the new phone?

I'd always though it should be the network lock you need not the service provider lock on these phones.

@Senor_Sam

Might be worth a call or chat with LG?

@Senor_Sam I came across this earlier, unsure if it will help

From the dialling screen: dial 2945#*710#

A menu will open, select the top option 'service provider lock'

Enter the "NCK" code (you will be given 4 different codes for different purposes, make sure you enter the NCK one)

The phone will switch off, turn back on and now fully unlocked

Hi cwmparc,

I did try this, but the issue is that when I select "service provider lock" it comes up with "Phone not personalised" and gives no option for a code
