Keeping number after contract change to 3rd party O2 contract

I'm looking to purchase a new O2 phone contract through a cheaper 3rd party website and would like to keep my number. I'm currently on a rolling sim only contract so there's no balance to pay off, however my surname in the new contract will be different from the current contract as I've recently got married and changed my name. I have no phone at the minute as my current phone is broken so really need a quick number swap once I've bought the new contract. Can O2 do this for me even with the different surname I'd be giving? Am I also right in assuming you can't use a PAC code to transfer direct from an O2 contract to another O2 contract?

All responses appreciated!

Ideally you need to change your name first https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/changing-your-name
To change over your number you just need to call 202 and ask them to migrate your number to the new account. No PAC needed.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
