We have a mast on our building at work that has always been dodgy. Calls/texts are fine but data can cut out and according to the o2 status its had a high demand status for many months. Seems that has sort of been fixed now though, until this last week or so

Around lunch time you cannot use any data. Calls/texts are fine but the data just wont connect at all. Other o2 customers at work having the same thing so its a mast issue. The status page will change to "we're investigating a mast may be down etc" and a few hours later it goes back to normal and the status page updates to say everything is ok. Now a one off fair enough technology does have problems, but its been like it now every day at lunch time for the past week. They arent working on the mask as its on our building we would notice

o2 support just echo what the status page says, so what could be causing it to die for a few hours every day and then be magically fixed until the next day?

Hi

Appreciate your frustration.

Many of us have been in the situation with network signal issues.

Many more at the moment with the recent weather issues and power outages.

All you can do is keep checking that link and re boot your phone when its showing Ok or if your not locked into a contract possibly look at moving networks.

Thats if another gives you better signal where you are. This can be checked by using ther payg sim cards for a week or so where you live, commute and work.

When one mast fails etc they will move the overage onto the 2nd mast which will put it under strain and cause congestion.

Possibly turning off 3g in your phones settings may help.

They will be aware of the mast and say in their terms and conditions that they will work as fast as they can to rectify any issue. Although o2 do not give eta's on repairs etc as many factors can hinder a mast repair.

I assume no WiFi is available.

Texts/calls always remain fine. I assume im on the mast on our building anyway. Not sure how it works but if you're literally underneath it will it pick up a signal from it?

What i dont get is why it goes from broke to fixed in a few hours, then the same happens the next day, and the next. And no wifi unfortunately

Your phone will search for the strongest signal.

Perhaps Download the MYNETWORK app and report the mast.

Oh dear.

Kinda stuck between a rock and a hardplace   Crazy

The help notes say : How can i tell you about something if i dont have a signal. Your phone will store your feedback, then send it to us once youve got coverage again. You can also use this app over a wifi connection.
