I'm moving to australia in November, and I have an iphone 4 on pay monthly contract, it doesn't end until November 2013. I was wondering can I take the phone out to australia, use an australian pay as you go sim and just pay off the bill monthly from out there? (pain in the backside as a waste of money I know)
I don't have the money spare to pay it off all in one go and I don't fancy paying out monthly for a phone I can't use!

Yes you can do that but you need to make sure the phone is unlocked before you go. It's free to do on monthly contract.
How do I unlock my phone so it can be used on other networks? | Support | O2

If you are going to do that is there not someone here you could give the sim to as someone may as well use the allowances if you are still going to be paying for them
