Is this a scam O2 website?

Hi all,

Got some replies on gumtree and one was from a EU mobile number and it became clear that the person was a timewaster.

Got a message from "O2" this morning that I have sent a text to an international number for the first time and to login and check my tariff.

First, it is not the first time I have texted and Int number and O2 would know that as I have had this number/account for years.

Second, the link website looks wrong, it starts:

http://s.o2

The "s" secure symbol is on the wrong side of the ://

I was wondering if the timewaster deliberately answered my add with that number and then faked the O2 text to get me to click that link.

I never click any link in a text message.

I may just forward it to O2 phishing and see what they say.

Thanks in advance

Re: Is this a scam O2 website?

Yes this is an invalid URL and I would forward it to O2.

They don't care whether you send international's texts or not, they may send you a message with your bill to say if you're going to do this frequently to check your tariff / bolt ons but not on a one off (and if as you've said before you've done this a number of times)

Re: Is this a scam O2 website?

s.o2.co.uk is valid and is not unusual for o2 links to look like that, but always check your MyO2 from http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2 to be sure.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hello!
Notice of scams or possible scams always welcome @JohnRoxton
I get phishing emails quite regularly and always forward/report them to the appropriate places.
Well done to be cautious.
